Aloiz Krizan, photograph

unknown

Group of Slovenians at Oakdale Colliery Training Centre. Aloiz ('Low') Kriznan is standing third from the left, front row. Aloiz was born in 1925 in Log (then known as Sattrok) in East Slovenia. After the war he came to Wales.

"We went to Market Harborough to learn the English language and mining then to south Wales and Oakdale Training Centre. We spent two-and-a-half months training there before I got private lodgings in Cefn Forest and a job in Britannia Colliery where I stayed for thirty-five years until I got redundancy in 1983."
