The Cargo Steamer REBECCA (painting)

Yorke, William Howard (William Howard Yorke was the son and student of William G. Yorke, who was also a noted ship portraitist. William Howard Yorke was born in St. John’s, New Brunswick in 1843, and immigrated to Liverpool.)

The REBECCA was built by Ross and Duncan, Glasgow, and completed in June 1895 by John Fullerton and Co., Paisley, for the Caernarvonshire and Merionethshire Steamship Co. Ltd. She was sold to Cullen, Allen and Co. Ltd. on 24 October 1916. Later renamed YORKGLEN she was broken up sometime after 1930.
