Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Basket, with high waisted and everted rim, pierced with a band of S's between two bands of gilding. A border of gilt leaves runs around the lower exterior body and around the interior base. Black japan, painted and gilded with pastoral sceens of rustic cottages, with people and farm animals adorning either end of the basket. The handle tapers slightly at either side where it joins to the body of the basket, and is gilded with stylised flowers and swags.
