Early Medieval human remains
These are remains from the Inhumation burial of a Younger Middle Adult (25-25 years) who was probably Male.
He was buried in an extended supine position in a simple grave oriented West-East
The burial is from Phase F: 684-986 AD
The burial is associated, by proximity, with SK140, SK141 and SK143 A Glass Bead (2025.7H/5.10, small find number 19/42) was recovered from this burial. The bead itself is a style common in the late Roman and Early Medieval Era. It's unclear if it was deliberately deposited or just mixed in the soil filling in the grave.
Four bags from this skeleton are missing. Rib, vertebrae and pelvis fragments were recorded as being recovered but have since been lost.
