Knight, Jessie (Jessie Knight was the first prominent female tattooist in the UK. She took over her father's tattoo shop in Barry aged 18 in 1927 and went on to prominence whilst working in Chatham, Portsmouth and Aldershot. She returned to Barry in 1968, and continued to work there as a tattoo artist into the 1980s.)
Folder for tattoo flashes. Exterior has three images of women in Japanese style dress on the front, with the text, ‘Drawings are the works of the Lady Tattoo artist, J.K. On the back is a depiction of a couple, flamenco dancing.
The interior has images of banners with text. It is signed, ‘JK’. The text reads, ‘These designs have been hand drawn with great care & attention. Therefore when making a choice of design, kindly respect my wishes by handling these charts with due care. Free hand artist tattooing. Any design, any subject.
