Wedding dress worn by Emma Ashelford (nee Roche Whicker; 1834-1906) on her marriage to George Ashelford on 15 November 1859. They were married in Somerset. Both are buried in Llanblethian Churchyard, Cowbridge. Also worn by Dorothy Ashelford (a descendant of Emma Ashelford) on 6 June 1944.
Dress of wool and silk mixture. Horizontal lines of brown & buff stripes. Bodice gathered into a point in front. Gathered skirt at waist. Lined with linen. Sleeves are pagoda type (may have been altered at later date).
