Coffee cup in soft-paste porcelain with plain foot ring, the body curving out from the inset foot to form a cylindrical shape, the rim thinned to a slight taper, simple loop handle; the cup is decorated around the body with a simple interior scene, painted under and overglaze in polychrome enamels, of four chinoiserie figures and a dog, the adult is seated and is being fanned by a child, the other two children are playing, the scene is within a simple cartouche formed by a lobed line in gilt, the rim also has a gilt band, the handle is surrounded by five sprigs of flowers in blue, pink, orange, brown and black and there is an ephemeral dab of pink enamel on the handle, another floral sprig in orange, blue and black is painted at the interior base.
