Albert Medal awarded to Eynon G. C. Hawkins. Whilst serving in a merchant vessel which was torpedoed and set on fire 10 January 1943, he organised a party of survivors in the water and kept them away from fire until they were picked up. He twice swam to the assistance of other survivors, receiving burns as he pulled them to safety.
