Mid 19th century Greiner type doll with painted papier mache shoulder head. Brown eyes, moulded black hair in ringlet style and stuffed cloth body and limbs. Wearing a thick, black cloth overcoat with black trimming on neck, cuffs and the 2 pockets and fastened with 3 hooks. Under this a short red flannel jacket edged with black and a brown cotton, flower sprigged dress. Brown trimming at neck, waist at hem and on 2 pockets. The undershirt, chemise and long, lace-trimmed pantalettes are of unbleached cotton, the stockings of white knitted silk and the laced shoes are soft brown leather with brown silk bow decoration. There is a necklace of small red beads.
