Small Teletubby soft toy based on the character Tinky Winky, late 1990s. Teletubbies was first aired in 1997 on the CBBC slot for children.

Since the 1950s, many of the most popular toys and games in Wales have been inspired by iconic BBC children’s television programmes.

Teletubby made from purple synthetic fabric. Toy is made to sit upright. Triangular 'antenna' attached to crown of head. Inner ears made from off-white synthetic fabric. Rectangular section at centre front chest made from blue texturised plastic material with a coating that gives it an iridescent effect. Face made from off-white moulded plastic. Details printed on in black, white, and two shades of brown. Soles of feet made from grey synthetic twill. Dots of grey plastic are adhered to the soles at regular intervals. Different purple fabric on palms of hands. Stitching in purple thread to delineate fingers. Arms and legs are padded with Polyester wadding but torso has a granular filling. Printed card label attached to rear with pastic tag. Printed fabric label attached to seam at rear.
