Bean-shaped badge of tabby fabric (blue yarns in one, black yarns in the other weave-direction; ribbed weave with black yarns more visible on surface of weave); edges finished with overlocking stitches using blue thread; lined with black cellulosic tabby woven fabric; machine embroidered in red and yellow: 'BOY SCOUTS' in yellow and below is an inscription-band framed in red containing the Scout motto: 'BE PREPARED', also in yellow thread.
