Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Plate, soft-paste porcelain, with a creamy, slightly buff translucency; standing on a straight sided foot rim curving into cushion moulded and slightly curved spreading sides, and lobed lip with six large and six small lobes; simply painted in polychrome enamels with a carp on the water, with gilt scales and orange head, among green foliage and pink flowers; orange and gilt sprigs and insects around the edge; chocolate brown band to lip.
