Jug

Jug, pearlware, ovoid form with rounded slightly spreading foot-rim, bulbous sides, raised neck, plain beak spout, square-shouldered loop handle with raised thumb-spur, a band of fluting around the lower body, to either side of the exterior body a raised moulded hunting scene, one showing two seated male figures holding guns and with a dog besides them, the other showing a standing male figure holding a pole, a kneeling male figure holding a hare and several dogs, around the exterior neck a raised moulded vine with leaves and fruit; the exterior body of the jug apart from the raised moulded areas and the underside of the spout covered with a marbled pink lustre, the moulded hunting scenes highlighted with touches of pink lustre, alternate pink lustre and white stripes to the fluted band, pink lustre bands around the foot-rim and interior lip-rim, the spout and handle edged with pink lustre.
