Coffee cup and saucer, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain, pale green translucency, grey-green tinge to the glaze; the cup standing on a shallow moulded foot, inverted bell-shape with everted lip, high kidney-form and scrolled handle; the saucer with a shallow foot rim and no cup recess. The cup decorated with an on-glaze transfer-print comprising a seated Chinese man, surrounded by five standing figures of attendants within a landscape of buildings including a river in the background, all overpainted in blue, green, red, purple, brown, orange, grey and black enamels, the handle and foot gilded, and a gilt border within the lip containing small cartouches of iron red landscapes alternatating with polychrome birds on branches; the saucer decorated with the same in-fill print and a similar border.
