Jug, earthenware, standing on a round straight-sided foot-rim, bulbous body composed of six convex panels tapering inwards at the shoulder, concave cylindrical neck flaring out to a lobed lip-rim, wide elongated beak spout, high loop handle with raised foliate moulded thumb-spur, the exterior neck beneath the spout and handle moulded with an embossed shell-like scle pattern enclosed by moulded scrolls and flower heads, two reserved panels to either side of the exterior neck also enclosed by cartouches of moulded scrolls and flower heads; transfer-printed in black with to the exterior body three different fishing scenes showing several small figures and a river against a rural landscape with buildings and trees, to the exterior neck within the reserved panels two different rural scenes showing cottages and trees, to one side of the interior neck a small rural scene with a cottage and trees, to the other side another rural scene with figures besides a river, two black bands to the exterior lip-rim and spout, black anthemions and further black markings to the handle, a brownish tinge to the glaze.
