Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Amulet in a box, with a typed note: 'Old Farthing carried for Good Luck by private of Surrey Regiment. 1916'. Acquired by the Museum in 1918 from Edward Lovett, a folklorist and collector from Croydon. The farthing has a hole in it and through it is threaded a tabby woven cotton (?) ribbon of red, white and blue. The ribbon is tied in a double knot. The front of the coin has an image of Britannia, facing left, and the back shows a portrait of George III with the letters ‘…EOR…’ still legible as well as the date: 1807.
