Soup plate, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, cushion-moulded sides, spreading rim, double cruciform moulding to the rim, a shaped edge to the rim; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the centre of the well two European birds perched on a spreadng branch with berries, to one side of the well is a small insect, to the rim in the four spaces between the moulded areas is repeated the design of two European birds perched on a spreading branch, the moulded areas to the rim painted with a scale pattern in puce and festoons of flowers in gilt, to the edge of the rim a border of green diagonal lines between two gilt bands.
