In base, below a carved footboard and within a rounded arch, the bishop kneeling in prayer. To either side, a shield : dext. a chevron between three lions rampant, sin. a cross between four lions rampant. A provisional seal of simple style with variants of the heraldry described in E189 and E191; by 1479 another seal had been engraved.
