Jug, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a rounded spreading foot-rim, pear-shaped body, beak spout with moulded scrolls to the underside, double-curved scrolled handle with raised moulding to the shoulder, domed cover with a pineapple finial to the top; around the exterior sides of the jug a large landscape, finely painted in puce, showing a river flowing between hills with in the foreground figures seated on the bank and figures in a boat hauling on a fishing net, beyond a triple arched stone bridge, to one side a village on a hillside, to the top of the cpver a small landscape in puce, around the neck of the jug and the rim of the cover a broad chocolate band between two narrow gilt bands and a green and gilt ribbon border, gilt edges to the foot-rijm and spout, the moulded scrolls to the underside of the spout and the handle picked out in gilt, the finial covered in gilt.
