Marking gauge used for marking lines parallel to the face side or edge when planning workpieces to size, and for similar parallel lines when marking rebates, joints etc. It consists of a stem and a sliding fence, secured in the desired position by a wooden wedge. Potruding through the stem at one end is the spur which marks the wood when being pulled along it.
