Early Medieval human remains
These are remains from the Inhumation burial of an Older Child (5-9 years) All that survives are the individual's teeth, which have evidence of Calculus and Caries.
They were buried in an extended supine position in a simple grave oriented North-South on the Western side of the cemetery. The N-S orientation is very rare in the Five Mile Lane cemetery. Burials of this orientation mostly belong to children on the west side of the cemetery, on the opposite side of the mound from the entrance.
The burial is from Phase C: 401-659 AD
The burial is associated by proximity with SK238
