Full title - Card of Prices.
Prices and particulars of slates of the Manod Slate Quarries, Blaenau Ffestiniog, dated 1st January 1915. The prices given are for machines dressed ‘best blue’ slates in various sizes (ranging from 24’’ x 14’’ to 10’’ x 6’’), and of various quality (‘best’, ‘best medium’, strong mediums’, ‘second mediums’, and ‘third/damp course’ slates). The price list also gives details of price and sizes of slate slabs. Included with the price list is a letter from Manod Slate Quarries Ltd offering to quote a discount on the price list. The letter refers to the Manod Slate Quarries as the ‘North Pole Quarry’ - a term often used locally, but seldom used on printed material. The price list is printed on purple card, and is folded in four. The donor’s family were timber merchants in Taunton, Somerset. They supplied timber and slate to local builders and merchants, and as a result acquired a collection of slate price lists.
