Pot-lid
Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'The Lovers' (although this title is not recorded on the lid), showing a male and female figure seated on a bench in a garden setting with a plumed hat resting on a pedestal to one side, the print extends to the edges of the lid with no border around it. The glaze crazed, extensive chipping to the rim of the flange.
