Tankard, silver, domed foot with spreading rim and vertical sides rising to join the vertical sides of the tall cylindrical body, the join disguised by a rope-twist wire band, applied moulded rim, scroll handle with shield-shaped lower terminal and cast thumbpiece in the form of a double-tailed mermaid, the cover domed in two stages and hinged to the top of the handle; the foot and lower part of the cover embossed and chased with winged cherub's heads, also with scrolls (foot) and fruit (cover), the body engraved below the rim with elaborate scroll-work incorporating fruit and grotesque masks, engraved below the band of twisted wire with scrolls, swags and snails, the top of the cover engraved with the arms of Krag inside a wreath, engraved on the handle with the inscription 'DENNE KANNE ER MIG TRINE PEDERS D. FORERIT / A[: or E?]H PEDER GIEVEL OC HANS SYSKEN 1632' and on the lower terminal of the handle 'ANNO 1633'.
