Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
This medal belonged to David D. Davies, a local manager at Penrhyn Quarry in Bethesda. David D. Davies began working at Penrhyn Quarry as an apprentice in 1869 (before he was 11 years old) and worked his way to becoming a local manager in March 1902. The purpose of the medal was to prove, when necessary, the competence of the holder.
