Post-Medieval silver seal matrix: George II

Reverse :

A shield: the royal arms (of 1714-1801) ensigned by the royal crown; supporters: dext. a greyhound collared, sin. a hind ducally gorged with a coronet and chained; in base: the Prince of Wales' (three ostrich) feathers enfiled by a coronet, and a scroll with motto: ICH DIEN; Dr.M.Siddons points out (20-8-92) that the ostrich feathers are strictly speaking not the badge of the Prince of Wales as such, but ofthe heir to the throne, who of course is usually crowned Prince of Wales.
