Padded Christmas card.
Made from lace paper which is partially decorated with silver paint. Front has an inscription reading 'A Merry Christmas' printed in blue onto an oval of cream satin. The other side consists of a rectangular panel of padded cream satin, with a painted depiction of roses and violets, framed with paper border of scalloped silver paper lace.
The card is constructed of one piece of paper which folds over a filling of white fleece which is visible along one of the corners where the paper is torn.
On the front, the paper is folded over (in imitation of an envelope) with the points/corners meeting in the centre, where they are held together by a circle of paper, made to look like the wax seal of an envelope, which has an embossed inscription (a London address).
This area is covered over by the oval of cream satin with its printed inscription, which is in itself framed with silver painted paper lace (but this is only partly adhered and can be lifted to reveal the 'seal').
On the back, the paper is largely cut away, leaving only the scalloped border framing the large rectangular panel of painted cream satin.
