Mobile winder, photograph

Mobile winder for No. 2 Area N.C.B. South Western Division in Abertillery. The driver of the N.C.B. emergency mobile winder vehicle is Emil Ziomek. He came from Poland in 1939 when Germany invaded. Originally in Polish air force (a fitter), he got out through the Black Sea and ended up in Algiers. Joined Polish RAF after demob, and married and moved to Crumlin.
