Sealing wax igniter

Usk (Factory)

Sealing wax igniter, tin-plate, cylindrical canister with loop handle and domed cover with to the centre a short tube-shaped nozzle; the base and interior covered with a black japan, the exterior covered with a crimson japan, the cover decorated with alternating borders of scrolls and stars, with a design of radiating lines around the nozzle, the decoration in silver to which the varnish has given a golden tinge, further golden lines around the canister.
