(7132gt) : North Sands type built 1942 by Marine Industries Ltd., Sorel, Quebec (engined by John Inglis Co Ltd., Toronto), for Park Steamship Co, Montreal, managed by McLean, Kennedy Ltd., Montreal. 1946 Assigned to the UK Ministry of Transport, managed by Aviation & Shipping Co., London. 1950 Sold to Fairview Overseas Freighters Ltd., Halifax, Nova Scotia, and renamed JOHNSTAR, managed by C.M. Lemos & Co. 1957 Sold to Record Shipping Co., Panama, and renamed SANTHY (managed by Lemos). 1960 Renamed GLAFKOS - same owner, but re-registered at Piraeus. She ran aground at Amphirite Point, Vancouver Island on 2nd January 1962. She was refloated, but deemed a total constructive loss and broken up soon afterwards at Victoria, B.C.
