Obverse. The king wearing a crown flory and loose robe, with perhaps a jewelled chain over his shoulders, seated on a throne which has four pinnacles and a high back terminating upwards in a carved ogee arch, his right hand holds a short sceptre, his left hand an orb clasped against his breast and topped by a cross; the panel of the throne is decorated by simple tracery; by the monarch’s feet, two lions guardant; in field, to either side, a fleur-de-lis.
