S.S. DIANA (1551 Grt). Built in 1924 by Flensburger Schiffbau Gesellschaft (yard no. 394), of Flensburg. She was delivered as Kathe for China Rhederei A.G., Hamburg. In 1930, she became the Diana of the Flensburger Schiffspartenverein A.G., of Flensburg with H. Schmidt as manager. At the outbreak of the war, she was in Spain and remained there until she was sold and renamed Ria de Corme by her new owners: Empresa Nacional Elcano S.A., of Cadiz. On March 2nd 1946 she ran aground on the Goodwin Sands during a voyage from SDtockholm to Barcelona with woodpulp and paper. She was refloated and towed into Dover harbour, where she sank again. On November 3rd 1948, she was refloted. Eventually she was broken up in Valencia during 1950.
