Jug, earthenware, standing on a rounded foot-rim, globular body with a band of horizontal ribbing around the lower body, cylindrical neck, plain beak spout, square-shouldered loop handle with outer spur half-way down; the exterior of the jug covered with a blue ground, this then sprigged in white clay with to either side of the body a design of winged chimera surrounded by scrolling foliage and to the front of the body below the spout an urn between floral sprays, the neck sprigged with a border of oak leaves and acorns, the sprigged decoration picked out in red, yellow and green enamel and pink lustre, a pink lustre band around the foot-rim, the underside of the spout and the upper half of the handle covered in pink lustre, a pink lustre edge to the lip-rim. The spout broken and repaired.
