The base of a very neatly made Lezoux ware samian cup of form Dr33. The fabric is very smooth with a glossy slip. Somewhat thick and heavy. This was possibly clipped and used as a lid. The stamp reads: MAXIMI. This is the stamp of the potter Maximus ii of Lezoux Likely to date from AD 150-180 (Hadrianic-Antonine).
