Coin known as the 'Churchill Crown'. Part of a collection relating to the political life of David Rhys Grenfell CBE JP MP.
The coin went on sale in October 1965 through to the following summer, and close to 20 million were issued. The reverse shows a portrait of Churchill by the sculptor Oscar Nemon. This is the first time a British coin featured a portrait of an individual other than the monarch.
