Tabard
'Celtique' tabard in tapestry pattern made at Welsh Textiles Ltd, Pyle, near Porthcawl, circa early 1970s. Matches skirt DF2023.3/2.
Tapestry woven tabard in brown and cream; grey & cream fringe on lower hem; front panel has central seam and chest darts; self-fabric facing on inner arm holes and along neck opening. Rounded neck with 20cm long slit at centre front. Front and back panels are connected by a c. 8cm seam at the sides (under the arm), the remaining sides seams are slit open but have a Chinese-style frog fastening made from brown synthetic rope further down the sides. All machine stitched using brown thread. Manufacturer's label at inner neck.
