Obverse. The king seated on a low throne, his feet resting on a footboard ornamented by arches, his long belted tunic partly covered by a loose cloak with embroidered border thrown over his left arm and falling folds over the back and sides of the throne; on his head a crown of three fleurs-de-lis; his arms extended, his right hand holds a sword slightly inclined towards his head; in his left hand an orb, upon which a cross paty surmounted by a bird; the base of the throne is decorated by arches, the uprights (which culminate in knobs) by roundels.
