Written on the back of this work is: “Bundoran, Country Donegal, Ireland. 05.12.93. This is an 'outtake' from my project The Shipping Forecast. I spent a week in Donegal (which is in sea area Malin") just before Christmas 1993; short, dark days and truly terrible weather of incessant rain and storm-force winds. I've always harboured a soft spot for this picture, and often wonder why it didn't make it into the book, which was published in 1996. I have plans, one day, to revisit the work now that twenty years have passed, make a new edit, and republish. If I do, I'd wager this picture will be included.” — Mark Power
