Box and windlass cheese press. Solid wooden bench on four splayed legs supporting vertical rectangular frame. Box hoisted within frame by means of ropes suspended from hexagonal windlass parallel with the top cross-bar. Windlass worked by winder fixed to top of vertical post, and held in position with wooden peg thrust into a hole below. Desk-type lid in front of box (filled with stones).
