Built 1936 by William Doxford & Sons Ltd at Sunderland for The Red 'R' Steamship Company Ltd. (Stephens, Sutton & Co), Newcastle. 1948 - Sold to Stylehurst Shipping Co , Newcastle (Hadjilias & Co, London) and renamed STYLEHURST. Sold again in 1951 to Rederi A/B Alfa (Allan Borgesson), Helsingborg, and renamed ASPEN. She was purchased in 1960 by Lombard Navigation Co, Panama and became ss METROPOLITAN. She was scrapped at Hong Kong in 1970.
