Sirhowy Railway stone carving

Lewis, William

Stone block with a carved representation of the first train that ran on the Sirhowy Railway 'BUTE 1'. Dated 1853. Carved by William Lewis of Twyn Gwyn Farm, Ynys-ddu, Monmouthshire, who worked at the Mynyddislwyn quarries, where the stone was hewn.
