Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
These are fragments of a shale bracelet.
Less than half of the bracelet survives and what does has laminated into fragments. It has a sub-rectangular section. The faces have no evidence of being decorated through polishing or turning, but it may be that the outer layer has been lost anyway. The outer and inner edges do show some rough evidence of being rounded, but may be damaged or unfinished.
Shale bracelets were produced from the Bronze Age through the Iron and into the Roman Age. It was also found in a residual context, making it difficult to confidently date.
