Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Section of wallpaper salvaged from the Vulcan Hotel during its dismantling in 2012. The upper layer of paper is Victorian / Edwardian in style while the underlying paper is Art Nouveau in style. The paint partially overlying the upper layer suggests that the paper was in place when a staircase was built against it. The wall was then painted above and below the 200mm staircase stringer. The original patterned paper survived unpainted, behind the stringer.
