Plate, cockle
Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Cockle plate, earthenware, circular shape, rounded foot-rim with an incised ring around it, curving sides and spreading rim, a raised ridge around the well, a band of moulded anthemions to the outer rim; transfer-printed in black with to the centre of the well a rural scene showing two male figures reaping with long scythes in a field, a tree stump with a single spreading branch dominates one side of the scene, in the background are distant hills and trees, black bands around the well and to the rim.
