Figure of James Rush, white earthenware with a blue tinted crackle glaze, standing on a roughly shaped egg shaped base, inscribed in gilt script. Rush in contemporary dress of black shoes, pink trousers, underglaze blue frock coat with gilt outlining, red and green diagonally striped waistcoat with black buttons, small black necktie, naturlaistically painted face, black whiskers and hair, holding a white piece of paper with black lines on in right hand, left hand hovering just above an orange pillar, weight on right leg, left leg slightly bent.
