Recordiad sain / Audio recording: Maria Williamson

Williamson, Maria
Keast, Anna

Oral history recording with Maria Williamson. Recorded as part of the Italian Memories in Wales project (2008-10), delivered by ACLI-ENAIP and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Part 3 of 3 (AV 11499-11501)

00.00 Maria loves going back to Piminoro. She enjoys the freedom and way of life and misses that a lot. The family has a very strong bond and Maria doesn’t feel as if she has changed at all as her roots are there. She knows the older people in the village though the younger ones are now better educated and leave to further their education or find jobs. Maria took her daughter for the first time when she was three years old; they have been going back ever since. Her children never forget their Italian roots and are proud that she is Italian. Maria has had a good life in Wales; she has a wonderful family and life has been good to them, but she likes to go back and does when she can.
