The central section of the bow is decorated by a small rectangular panel with two central lozenges creating triangular cells containing traces of green enamel (verified by XRF). There is a small raised stud above this panel. On each side of the bow is a narrow flange running its full length. In line with the enamelled panel these are serrated. Spring mechanism of Polden Hill type: the chord held by a perforated lug on the head, the spring behind semi-cylindrical wings with the axis bar mounted on perforated circular lugs at the ends.
