Sash worn by Rosemary James (1930-2019) when she was crowned Miss Llyswen, 1950s. Purple with gold fringe at both ends. 'Miss Llyswern' hand painted in silver on one side.
Sash made from purple silk ribbon, with hand-inscribed lettering (using silver paint). Yellow fringe made from finely-knitted strands which are arranged in loops. Sash is hand-stitched together in such a way that it can be worn draped diagonally across the chest, i.e. the stitches are under the left arm.
