Equestrian: the king on horse galloping to sinister, his flowing surcoat not visible on this impression; his helmet (vizor closed) bears, for the first time, the lion passant crest of ENGLAND; little remains of his sword, his shield bears, quarterly: three large fleurs-de-lis (probably meant as semy. for FRANCE [Ancient] and the lions of ENGLAND. Bloom comments: ‘A revolution in armour has set in. Plates of metal are now affixed to the exterior of the arms and legs, and the feet are encased in jointed plates’.
