Vase, soft-paste porcelain, urn-shaped body with two handles (broken), scalloped rim pierced alternately with circles and hearts, plain flange below the rim, flaring neck, at the top of the body is a raised gallery with a scalloped edge that is pierced in the same manner as the rim, the vase has a narrow pedestal with a flange around the upper circumference, a round flaring foot with horizontally flattened edge, sitting on a square plinth base (now seperate); a composition of pink roses is painted on one side of the body, the opposite face is painted in muted colours with a landscape scene incorporating a river, waterfall and classical ruins, with a colourful assortment of flowers in the foreground; the top edge of the rim and flange are gilt, the top edge of the gallery has a band of gilt with simple pendants positioned between the pierced motifs, each pierced motif has a gilt border, the neck has stylised acanthus leaves, flowers and scrolls in gilt, the remainder of the handles and upper portion of the pedestal are entirely gilt, the pedestal stem is has a pattern of ovals and stars in gilt, the foot is gilt with a pattern in relief of inverted hearts with stylised acanthus leaves at their centre, alternated with ovals with beaded borders and stylised suns at their centre.
